and external customer service. .Promptly and politely greet all patients. Appointment scheduling. Interviews patient or representative to obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information and enters into practice mgmt system. Obtains referral information, verifies referral, coverage, and eligibility as appropriate. Explains practice policies as may be implemented from time to time, including policies on referrals patient financial responsibility, assignment of benefits, payment of accounts, and schedule of charges.
Answers patients' questions regarding statements and insurance coverage.
Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage slip for response by medical personnel.
Assists with other medical office needs, including medical records, receiving payments for services provided, and cross training to handle limited technical responsibilities.
