Licensed Optician Owner and operator of retail optical stores seeking a full-time New York State licensed Optician for our Rochester, NY store. This individual will be responsible for successfully performing customer service, sales and operational tasks, as well as positively contributing to an environment that delivers excellent patient and customer care. Location: Rochester, NY Terms: • Full-time; must be able to work flexible hours, including Saturdays • Some local travel may be required to support other Rochester area locations • Salary plus commission; pay rate based on experience Education and Experience: • High School diploma or its equivalent • New York State License in ophthalmic dispensing • Three or more years’ experience; optical retail environment experience preferred Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Deliver exceptional service throughout customers’ shopping and purchasing experience • Ensure accuracy in taking and recording measurements and adjusting and fitting eyewear • Expertly guide customers in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their personal style, lifestyle, prescription and price needs • Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements • Maintain presentation standards both on the sales floor and back office • Process orders in Point of Sale (POS) Software and generate reports • Stay current on product knowledge and fashion trends in order to enhance sales and service Required Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of current optical theory and practices • Exceptional retail sales and service skills, including the ability to build a client following • Excellent organization, time-management, solution-finding, communication and interpersonal skills • Comfort using a computer and learning new software • Ability to project a professional image EOE/AA M/F/D/V
